Agathe is a would-be writer working at an English bookshop in Paris. She dreams of her Mr Darcy coming to claim her but she's such a drip that it seems unlikely. Her colleague Felix signs her up, unknown to her, to a Jane Austen residency in England and drives her to the ferry to make sure she goes. In England she meets Oliver, descended from  one of Jane's brothers but not a fan. They do an Elizabeth/Darcy meet where they take an instant dislike to each other.

Agathe isn't comfortable at the course. Oliver's father has dementia and keeps wandering around naked from the waist down. She begins to think that her future lies with Felix, but we obviously know better.

It's an inoffensive little film; my problem is that I found Agathe annoying. She seems terrified of life and I wanted to shake her and was rooting for the llama at the residency which spat in her face and stole the film.
