This is the oddest film of the year so far. A village in South-West France at an indeterminate period. Jérémie has come from Toulouse for the funeral of a local man. It's not at all clear what his relationship was with the dead man but his son Vincent doesn't like him and is quite aggressive. Jérémie decides to stick around, anyway, talks of taking over the dead man's bakery. The village is oddly empty of people: apart from the family, there's an old schoolfriend of Jérémie and the creepy parish priest who spends most of his time trawling the woods for mushrooms. It's intriguing but also frustrating, so much information wilfully withheld. It's also, once or twice, unintentionally comical.
