While the two female police officer leads are excellent and the misogynistic and caste culture in the Indian police force is depicted well, I must admit I found myself losing interest across the film which at 2 hours I felt was too long. I suspect my being a fan of the Netflix series Delhi Crime which covers the same territory but with more intricate plotting contributed to this view. Interesting that because of the strange Oscar nomination system, "Santosh" was the UK's Best International Feature Film entry for 2025, due to having UK financing. One suspects the film would never have been India's Oscar's nomination entry given its overall message.
