Tobias and Almut make a lovely couple. They meet when she runs him over as he's wandering in the middle of the road in his dressing gown in a divorce-shattered haze. She's a brilliant chef, all intuition. He works for Weetabix and makes copious notes about everything.

The film shifts back and forth chronologically in a slightly annoying way. It's not a spoiler to say that Almut gets ovarian cancer as we see this in the very first scene. What is she going to do with the time she has left? As we shift in time, we see them become a couple, have an almost impossibly cute little girl, move to a gorgeous house in the country, all the time knowing that it can only end sadly, though there are some notably funny moments, especially as Almut is forced by New Year's Eve traffic jams to give birth in the disabled loo at a petrol station.

I enjoyed this a lot, not least because Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield make such a charming couple.
