Anthony (Totone) is 18 and lives with his father and small sister in a remote farming area. It's the sort of poverty-stricken place where there is nothing for young people to do but get drunk and shag each other. But when his (drunken) father dies suddenly, he has to step up to the mark. He cares for little sister Claire (you can't help thinking that Social Services would have been round in the UK) and gets a job that pays E10 an hour, which he soon loses because he has a temper.

He decides to become a cheesemaker and makes up to a young woman farmer in order to steal her milk, despite her psycho brothers. He believes that he can win E30,000 in the annual competition for the best Comté. Anyone who listens to the Archers knows that it's hard to make cheese at the best of times, never mind one of the most expensive in the world.

It's not clear how he intends to survive at the end but by then I wished him well. I liked this a lot more than Sara did.
