Topic: The Dog Stars

It's 2035 and most of the human race has been wiped out by a lethal flu. A handful of survivors scratch a living and, as always, there are gangs of crazy marauders, known as Reapers, only too willing to kill. Hig, who lost wife and unborn child, is living with his friend Bangley and his beloved dog Jasper on rough ground in Colorado. He has a Cessna which he flies to Denver when he needs supplies. He dreams of flying to Grand Junction as he's heard a broadcast from there and hopes that some vestige of civilisation may have survived.

It's a little episodic as it moves through 3 locations, almost like 3 short films strung together, but it kept me gripped throughout and ends on a note of hope.

I've seen suggestions that Ridley Scott had made a metaphor out of the problems left to the world by the Covid pandemic but I don't see it myself.
