American Rick Power has been living in Dublin for 15 years after marrying an Irish woman. He once dreamed of being a successful musician but now plays in a wedding band. At a big wedding, he encounters Danny, once the lead singer in a boy band but now at a loose end. The two get drunk together and Rick plays Danny a song he's been writing for a dozen years.

Six months later, it's a global  hit for Danny whose career is suddenly back on track. A furious Rick wants credit and, preferably, lots of money. But he has no proof that the song was his and Danny's manager sends lawyer's letters. As his life starts to fall apart, Rick jumps on a plane to LA to confront Danny in person.

I wanted to love this film but it never really took off for me and the ending is sentimental.
