OK, I cracked as it’s not on at ActOne for a bit and went to my second favourite (and very worthwhile)The Lexi in Kensal Green.

Top tip is to watch DWP again - or the first time, but surely not - especially if you last saw it 20 years ago. It’s only about £3.50 on Amazon Prime.

Some of the jokes and references won’t land unless you saw the other one recently (cerulean belts on a select stall, for one).

This is a jolly watch for fans of the original. The cast has reassembled with the addition of Kenneth Branagh, Lady Gaga and the chap from Colin From Accounts as the new love interest. Reviewers have been quite mean about him but I thought he was lovely….


Any how, time has moved on and so has the world. Miranda is still atop Runway, Andrea is an award-winning journalist suddenly looking for a new job, Nigel is still the stalwart supporter with all the best lines and Emily has moved into retail.
The plot makes little sense really, but the script lines are great - with a couple of telling speeches from the Jeff Besoz character on  the future and Miranda on why women work -  as are the frocks, the locations and of course the stars. Who have aged revoltingy well. Meryl Streep is still the star but more battered nowadays.
Much better than most sequels and I thoroughly enjoyed it..

Cameos from anyone who is anyone, darling, in the designer world including both Dolce and Gabbana.
