I've never been to Luton and this film doesn't exactly sell it. Ish is a 12-year-old British-Asian boy; his mother is recently dead and he lives with his father, grown-up sister and grandmother. He mostly hangs out with his friend Maram but things go wrong when the police pull them over for a stop-and-search and Ish legs it, leaving his friend to be strip searched and humiliated. Maram can't forgive him.

The film is made in black and white and is marred by how hard the dialogue is to follow. If you can see a subtitled screening, then do!
