No, Clare. Atheists do not, as you have argued, commit human rights violations "in the name of Atheism". On the other hand, all of the atrocities I cite were carried out in the name of Christianity, as you can see from many of the quotes. The Phalangists who went into the refugee camps in 1998 had cricifixes on their vehicles. The term "crusade" is based on the latin word for cross. If you think that this is revisionist, fine. But most of our history has been written by Christians, so which direction do you think that it has been revised in? In terms of pure brutality, Christianity makes Islam look like the Magic Roundabout. It has massacred millions and destroyed whole civilisations. But then with God on your side, you can get away with anything. |
