Hi Robin, I totally agree with most of what you are saying, I was at the march myself, and a few others as well. I'm glad I didn't go into any of the local pubs, but this happens everywhere. I remember helping a woman move to Thamesmead and we went for a drink after getting all the furniture in place, we used to drink in Chiswick without any trouble, but the locals in Thamesmead made us feel very unwelcome, mainly by looks and mutterings, so much that we left after 1 drink which was not like me when I was drinking. I understand when you say don't give the BNP a platform of any kind to speak from, but I have always thought that this in a sense 'Glamorizes' them, in the same way that 'illegal' drugs glamorize or fascinate some people. I think anyone with reasonable intelligence if they were to look at the policies of the BNP would see them for what they are. I think it says a lot about these left wing organisations when they tell people they can't listen to certain people, as if they were the only ones entitled to an opinion, or the truth, most people I think are usually a bit more aware than is thought, and as they still have the right to vote, they should be able to investigate whatever party interests them, and sadly yes, there are some who are indeed racists and fascists and will not change the way they see things. I do think most people are not fooled so easily, with the weaselly words that come from griffins mouth. |
