The problem with using "evidence" in a report from Walthamstow is that we live in Acton, not Walthamstow. So all their conclusions are irrelevant. Also, in Walthamstow, traffic was clogging up side roads to cut past a single main road, leaving that road and rejoining it. That doesn't happen in Acton, well not in Poet's Corner. A car travelling east from Ealing Broadway or along the A40 would not cut through Poet's Corner, neither would a car avoid Horn Lane by driving that way. The only cars it stops are either cars of residents wanting to get through their own area, or cars going from the north-west (Acton Main Line) to south-east (Acton Central). So, you could see how in Ealing, cars could use Mattock Lane merely as it is parallel to Uxbridge Road, but that is not the issue here. And Uxbridge Road is a much bigger road than Horn Lane. |
