Just to add to this point, which was in answer to Susan's point. On Horn Lane we are bigger victims of rat-running than any of the roads north of Churchfield Road. Horn Lane is used by cars cutting through from the A40 to the M4, avoiding the North Circular Road. Now there is even more traffic, I have noticed even more "fast travelling" bikes on the pavements, which scares the hell out of me as someone with two young kids as I try and tell them to look left and right when stepping out of the front door, not just onto a road. Also, why shouldn't cars go down your road? It's not private road. What makes your road so special that only people living there are allowed to use it. Rat-running is not driving the most direct route. People living in flats are as entitled to healthy air as people living in houses. |
