| I think what is evident is a very polarised Acton. 'Middle Acton' as I like to call Acton Central Ward is a very comfortable and 'up and coming' area with desirable shops for desirable pockets on lovely Churchfield Road. The High Street reflects the other polarity of Acton, where people struggle on subsistance level (or below) incomes - often from long hours of unrewarding work. This picture could be said to be true of many London wards/boroughs and maybe there is a 'safe place' for Ms Kelly and Co.,but don't melodramatise what makes a city a city...unless you want segregation and aparteid? |
