It's wholly unfair to stigmatise a whole group for the actions of its most fervent or extreme members. You seem to be generalising excessively. Some members of some minority groups don't integrate quickly, others do. Many people settled around Acton have become members of the wider community. In time, more will do so. the river Tiber didn't foam with much blood when Enoch Powell said it would and there's no evidence it is about to do so now. I wasn't in England for the riots but Acton didn't feature in the reporting I saw. And there were areas of West London where immigrant communities went out and stopped the riots. Again, I think you are being too sweeping. As for the shops - the "ethnic" ones I fRequent are fine and offer a splendid choice of products. And the staff are civil. |
