| Not going to subscribe to The Times but, here's the gist. The overlooked district of Acton is catching up with its chic neighbours, and the cappuccino crowd are eyeing it up It may have more stations than any other place in the capital, but Acton in West London has long played second fiddle to its more stylish neighbours, Chiswick and Ealing. However, a spate of new developments, from townhouses to hundreds of affordable housing units, looks set finally to put what was once a laundry hotspot (due to the soft local water) on the map. As one agent puts it: “At the moment you still have to go to Chiswick to get a decent cappuccino. But things are definitely changing.” |
