| Our ISDN line goes down approximately every two to three months and has been doing so ever since it was installed some five years ago. It can take between 48 hours and a week to get the line working again. Every time we report the line down, before they will even start a fault log, we have to get our comms switchboardd provider to check it is not their fault. Everytime it is a fault with BT. This morning, having waited since lunchtime Monday for the engineer, he called to say the line was back up. I asked him what the fault was and he said he didn't know, so I rather naively asked how is he able to fix it if he doesn't know what it is? He replied that he didn't need to know what the problem was to be able to switch the line back on, so I asked why was it frequently switched off? He said 'how should I know why someone disses it'. This carried on for some time, I could get absolutely no sense out of him and he refused to give me his supervisors details. Apart from to the gin cupboard where does one go from here? |
