| Colin, I presume you have children at AHS. In my experience of the school, having a well-equipped building does not a good school make, more's the pity. I have been disappointed with the school and welcome Toby's plans. So what if his "name" gets him some attention. At least he is willing to take the time and trouble to put something back into the community. And so what if there is a slightly selfish motive (his children getting a good state education). He could have chosen to start sending them to church on a Sunday before they could walk, or fork out for Latimer, but he hasn't. Incidentally, if I were PM, I'd abolish charitable status and tax breaks for private schools - let them exist as businesses, but without my subsidy thank you very much. |
