A friend of mine used to work at Walls, which is now Friary Park estate. She said there was a petrol station onsite, by where The Drive is now. She doesn't know what happened to it and believed there are petrol tanks underneath. All this in the light of no EIA (environmental impact assessment) insisted upon by the Council for Catalyst to undergo! Furthermore, there is an "underground house" in Friary Road. It was built around 8 years ago. It not only flooded and collapsed when the builders dug out the deep foundations, but its basement is always like a swimming pool, I'm told. Aren't Catalyst and our Council concerned about the water under Friary Park? It is, of course, on top of a hill. Displaced water will occur if they build goes ahead and those towers need deep foundations. Where is that water going to go? |
