| I remember these homes being built. I can't believe they want to demolish them already! Is there a residents group/association? If yes, then you need to organise a meeting as quickly as possible. If no, then why not set one up? Put up posters, hold a meeting in the community centre. Get organised, decide what you want - is it to keep the estate as it is but improve it, or is it to be rehoused elsewhere? Only the tenants on the estate can stop this happening by getting organised and taking control. You could also join the Radical Housing Network http://radicalhousingnetwork.org/ and link up with other groups across London who are fighting for housing justice. |
