Sara is right, Central Acton Neighbours' Forum should be able to help. We're in the process of being designated (more on than below), but, once we are, the main aim is to write local planning policy from a local perspective. It's a bit of a long haul given that the document we produce, the 'Neighbourhood Development Plan', will need to be researched, created and consulted on from scratch, but in the meantime the forum can raise community objections and faciliate conversation with the council and developers re. consulations etc. You can join CAN here: surveymonkey.com/s/PNJF7MT It's free and the form is very simple. It also tells you a bit about the Forum. Plus, there's lots of info on Neighbourhood Forums out there which you can google. I agree with Chris that, as well as joining our Forum, you should organise yourselves into a residents' association and hold a meeting asap. Also, I'm happy to have a think and see what we can do immediately. Perhaps we can meet to discuss. Re. where you'll be housed, generally speaking, the developer chooses one building to remain standing and moves tenants into it whilst the other work is completed. Though, I don't know if this is likely to be the case here. I mentioned the Forum is in the process of being designated. If you have a moment have a look through our application to the Council: http://www.ealing.gov.uk/info/1004/planning_policy/1377/neighbourhood_planning/6 You'll see your road is in the boundary we're look to include. If you like the idea of a Neighbourhood Forum and decide to join CAN, it would be great if you would send a note of support to the council officer in charge, Steve Barton, to arrive no later than 26 NOVEMBER 2014: bartons@ealing.gov.uk or Steve Barton Planning Policy Manager Ealing Council Perceval House, 4th Floor 14/16 Uxbridge Road Ealing W5 2HL If you'd like to get in touch with me by email - perhaps you can send me whatever the developer has sent you so far - you can email chair@canforum.org Hope that helps, Sanya |
