Yes, Chris, we did receive a tick box form from Catalyst asking questions regarding the draughtiness, expense of heating and so on, as well others such as whether we felt safe in the area, our satisfaction with living here etc. I didn't bother to complete the form at first as I am in one of the houses and the believed the questions related more to flats on the estate and also that taking part in the 'survey' was optional. However, if I remember correctly I received another copy of the form and was told that this information was required and that if I didn't provide it a Catalyst representative would call round to assist me to complete the form, so I complied. I then heard about the regeneration plan from a friend with a connection to Catalyst so I phoned the area housing manager and asked if this was the plan. She told me that it was an option but unlikely and that nothing had been done about it yet, if anything it would be years before any action was taken. She said the buildings were not up to modern standards and needed lifts for tenants with mobilty issues. Some time after that tenants received a letter saying that Catalyst were considering either refurbishment or regeneration. That's when I decided to Google 'Friary Park regeneration scheme' as I was convinced that the homes would go to make way for a far more intensive build and found that tenders had long before gone out to companies for regeneration, this spurred my first post on this forum thread. Unfortunately it is all very clear now. |
