Lisa, This is the 4th of 4 'workshops' that Catalyst have hosted which were supposed to be taking in feedback from residents. Only a rough plan (1 x 20 storey tower, 2 x 14 storey, 2 x 10 storey, 3 x 8 storey, 6 x 6 storey, and a number of 2-5 storey blocks around the perimeter) has been presented so far. I lost count of the number of times residents from both the estate and from the surrounding areas told Catalyst 'NO TOWERS WHATSOEVER!' at the sessions so hopefully they will act on this when they unveil their final plan on Thursday and Saturday. Only Friary Park residents were invited to the first session as it concerned the living units, the second and third sessions concerned the remaining aspects of the build so were open to all residents in the area, although turn out was very low (around 9 people per Thursday session - they were repeated on the Saturday). We were alarmed to find such low attendance at the sessions and therefore fear that the consultation is flawed because of this. Many residents claim to not have been made aware of these sessions, and it sounds like you might be in the same boat? Is that the case? I for one only received part 3 of the 4 part newsletter that Catalyst claim was delivered to over 2,300 people and my flat backs directly onto the estate. I had to go looking for details of the 'workshops' in this forum. I have queried the coverage area for newsletter delivery with Catalyst but haven't received any response. I would strongly advise attending one of the final planning sessions if at all possible. It should not be too late to have your feeling on the matter heard. Details of the final session have been published in a separate thread which is titled accordingly. |
