Many thanks for taking time to reply Toby, I understand the need for more places but in this time of cuts and defecit can we afford a "worthwhile experiment"? It seems wrong to experiment when the local authority has the track record and experience and as you say they have done a decent job. As for the monopoly issue, this will be addressed by more schools becoming acadamies. You say that now BSF has been wound up the need for more places is now urgent. I can't help but think this is in effect robbing Peter to pay Paul to fund as you say an "experiment". I understand your motivation but the WLFS will have an experienced leadership team probably from a LA background and a board of Governors. Sounds like same meat different gravy to me! I understand that change can be good but just think your scheme is unneccessary and the timing is very bad. Jean |
