| Jim, I told you where the money was coming from in my post of June 27th. Peter is not being robbed to pay Paul. Furthermore, if the Free Schools budget of £50m was redirected to try and save the BSF budget of £55bn, schools would receive less than 1p out of every £10 they asked for. It is not sensible to suggest that one project was cancelled to fund the other. It is a tragedy that the BSF budget has been cut, the school environment does have its part to play in students' attainment, but to lay that at the door of free schools just smacks of political opportunism. |
