Dear Jim, Not reading other peoples' posts before you reply again. Once more then, just for you: Stephen Pound wrote an inaccurate, unpleasant, politically biased piece on Free Schools which was published by the Ealing Gazette. Ian helpfully gave us a link to the article a few comments above your own. That is why his name is being mentioned But, since you mention his expenses again, here is an extract from the Mail of last year: "Mr Pound claimed £4251 in petrol costs travelling between his constituency and Parliament. This equates to around 11000 miles (10,000 miles at 40p and the rest at 25p/mile) or roughly 500 round trips from Hanwell to the House of Commons. Parliament only sits around 140 days a year so he’s effectively claiming more than 3 return trips every day he’s at work" It seems that when asked why all the car travel, Mr. Pound claimed he needed to be out and about. He doesn't publish his expenses on his website and he has his facts wrong about the funding of Free schools. Even though as an MP, he is paid to represent all the people of North Ealing, he chooses to be abusive in public towards people who might consider supporting the Free Schools initiative. Jim, I consider Stephen Pound's behaviour to be lacking in respect for his position as an MP even if he is hilarious company when with friends. There you have it. You don't have to share my views, just respect my right to have them. |
