| Whilst I agree with Jim's post there is a serious side to this and now that the Tories have nailed their colours to the mast and have set us on course for an age of austerity one has to ask the question, will the Free Schools be cost effective? There is mounting evidence that they are not.But Toby and his ilk will try and convince us through, their easy access to the media that they are a panacea to our educational ills. As local tax payers ask yourself, can we afford this educational experiment which has under performed in Sweden and what are the motivations of Toby's steering committee whom all seem to come from the professional middle class? Where are the single parents from the South Acton estate? Lots of questions but few convincing answers. But Toby seems to have many of the locals in his thrall. Wake up and read the counter arguments there is lots to learn. |
