I'm writing to voice my protest at this ill-thought-out plan. I am the mother of two pupils at Derwentwater Primary School . Derwentwater is a lovely school but it is large in the number of pupils and small in terms of space per child. It is ludicrous to plant more children in this already over-crowded environment. Already the school has run out of classrooms to teach the children in their sets and the canteen is being used to accommodate a Maths class, not to mention losing the library altogether for extra teaching space. The children have to squash into the tarmac playground at break time. The effect of this proposal would be a double whammy – not only would there be more children in the playground, but there would be less playground because of the Porto cabins. please reply to this email to voice your opinion. kind regards Sarah Towers |
