point re fire evacuation taken and accepted. noted that lift at Derwentwater not deemed by you a priority; despite inadequate access facility for mobility impaired people. Cost of £100k when written off over life of the lift is well justified. The former Head always told me that mobility impaired children could go elsewhere; I didn't think it was acceptable and probably illegal. Our role as Governors is to tell the Head that it should be done and it seems to me it was your failure to appreciate the issue which has caused the lack of action. On the proposal for the classrooms in the playground; I welcome your opposition; it is hard to see (given your position on the Council) how the Council came to propose this without you not objecting strongly enough. Derwentwater's future intakes may be put off by the pending proposal as you have seen by the other postings on here already. Can you get the Council to make the right decision quickly please so that common sense can return? |
