I don't think transient population is the problem - the birthrate in the area has increased and a higher % of births within the area are still here at 5. This hasn't been properly planned for. The problem at Derwentwater is that the school is already overcrowded - every available space is used for teaching so there is no library, no science room, no music room, no arts room etc etc. The dining space and school hall aren't big enough for the existing population let alone another 10%. There is a meeting on Friday with the school and the council to discuss this and find out more. Chris - if you have any advice on dealing with this we'd be very happy to hear from you. |
