Agreed. But I don't like the tone of the headline. It pits the parents against the teachers and that is not the way we feel. Can the editor of W3 please appreciate that using inflammatory language like 'demand' continues to perpetuate the stereotypes and does not promote resolution? We are not demanding anything but we are engaging in the process and asking teachers and the community to look at the data and speak to the parents and pupils. I feel the teachers are under pressure from the NEU representative to continue to strike. That's what teachers have told me and other parents say the same. The regional NEU rep is well known for his tactics with teachers. This has be done before in other schools in this borough. Teachers should to do some research for their own sanity. All their meetings with the representatives are closed meetings and I am not convinced that teachers are being given the full and true facts. The agenda in this case is not about the pupils or the teachers which is the real crime here. Also, I would like to point out to the editor that citing the rally under an article written by parents is a little perverse and makes me questions their agenda. I'd like to think that we had a more objective press. |
