I don't understand how a small number of teachers can bring a school to a virtual standstill? I do know that quite a few teachers now want the strikes to stop but are too nervous to approach the NEU. I think they appreciate the disruption it is causing in their pupils' lives. No school three days a week! It's very sad, I thought the unions represented their members, not the other way around. I guess it would take very big people to suspend strike action and engage in the process productively. I think they feel that if AHS is moving to Ark, they might as well cause as much chaos as possible. The bigger the mess, the more they can blame Ark though as I understand it Ark can't really do anything until TUPE is initiated. Can't really blame Ark then. TUPE was delayed on the demands of the NEU and they are still striking and there is much chest beating that the NEU has signed off the greatest number of strike days in its history. Really? For an academisation that is supported by the SLT at the school, the GB and the parents? Surely, this should only happen when a good school is being academised for other reasons? It's pure self serving behaviour, nothing more, nothing less. A plea to Ealing Council from parents at AHS: please do not delay TUPE again. You were voted back in by us and I think we deserve to be heard. |
