| They could have called this Woman on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, only that was already taken. Linda is a therapist whose husband is working away most of the time so does all the care for the world's most neurotic kid, who refuses to eat and has to be fed through a tube in her stomach with medical professionals always talking to Linda as if she hasn't got a clue. Then the ceiling of her flat collapses, forcing her and her daughter to move to a cheap hotel where the staff seem intent on humiliating her. She starts drinking too much. Who can blame her? Rose Byrne is in every scene, I think, often in very close shot of her face. It really is hard to care, though. And a bit too much 'All men are rubbish'. |
