Watched this because the lead, Rose Byrne, is nominated for best actress. And she is very good and in pretty much every shot. But it’s all so grim and unlikeable and everyone is bonkers and in therapy. It’s very, very American ad I can feel no connection. I suppose it’s about the stresses of motherhood in a word where the men are absent or useless. Billed as a dark comedy, not the slightest glimmer of a smile in the 72 minutes I lasted.
