"This is scarcely representative regardless of whether the consultation was responded to or not - which is why I and many others I know are going to be objecting to this ludicrous scheme." I have some sympathy with councillors in a case like this. Some residents evidently have a problem with all-day commuter parking. So a consultation is sent out, but very few people bother to respond. The Ward Forum decides (Sep 2009) that there's no clear view, but further discussion (Dec 2009) shows that there is some increased demand. Hemce their decision to recommend a CPZ. The Ealing Cabinet voted to proceed with the CPZ on 23 February 2010, but only now are you and others "going to be objecting". Apathy rules - or so it seems to this observer. |
