Yes well, the consultation is what it is - a consultation to which out of 1029 residents in the core area a mere 134 thought it a good idea. That's the reality of it. This is scarcely representative regardless of whether the consultation was responded to or not - which is why I and many others I know are going to be objecting to this ludicrous scheme. Quite frankly, I don't care who parks on my road when I'm not there between 10 - 11am and 4 - 5pm after all everyone has a living to make. If I get back and I can't park within reasonable distance to home because of some unauthorised parker, then of course, I'd expect it to be removed if it really is causing an obstruction and inconvenience to everyone else; but at a cost to the unauthorised parker, not to me! At a cost of £10k consultation not to mention the estimated £35k implementation I see no sense whatsoever in the need for this scheme in these trying financial times. |
