I'm very concerned. I live in Hillcrest Road, and the proposal to block right turns from Uxbridge Road onto Gunnersbury lane will not just encourage, but necessitate cars cutting down King Edwards Gardens, Hillcrest Rd, Willcott Rd & Denehurst Gardens. These roads aren't designed for such traffic. The tight bend on Hillcrest already causes lorries to get stuck as they are unable to negotiate the turn. I'm trying to meet with Angie Bray to see if she can help. I really do think residents need to be vocal. The council replaced the mini-roundabout with traffic lights by Acton Town tube, caused a massive increase in congestion, then took them out and put the mini-rounabout back a few years later! We're not dealing with the brightest, most receptive people, so I think the more people hammer the message home, the greater the chance is that they may understand. |
