Roundabouts in place of traffic is a good; the traffic flows much better. But putting in the roundabout at the Steyne Rd junction will merely exacerbate traffic backing up at the Gunnersbury Lane lights - better to redesign this junction with a roundabout as well and put in raised zebra crossings for pedestrian. The proposal to ban certain turnings at the lights is a recipe for rat running, sheer madness. Most of the other proposals don't seem worth spending money on. Unfortunately, the area under consideration excludes the Steyne Rd/Churchfield Rd and Steyne Rd/Rosemont Rd junctions; mini roundabouts at both of these would improve traffic flow at rush hour and reduce vehicle speeds at other times. |
