Ying, that's how i originally read the proposal but it seemed so ridiculous i thought i must have misread it. In any other area traffic is guided towards main roads and away from redidential ones (eg. most of the side roads off Uxbridge Rd and Old Oak Rd in Shepherds bush are closed off specifically so that vehicles cannot use them as a cut through) so why on earth are they trying to do the opposite here? As a resident of Willcott Rd it is annoying enough at the moment that cars use our roads so as to avoid the traffic lights at the Gunn Lne/Uxbridge Rd intersection, if this becomes the only option it will become a nightmare. I do not see the issue with the left/right hand turns in questions and think that the back ups caused by people queing to turn into Willcott from Uxbridge and Denehurst from Gunnersbury will cause amuch more congestion than the current system. If this is indeed the proposal then I will definitely oppose it and urge others to do the same. |
