Toby, This is not a discussion about what you think of the NUT. This is a discussion about the reliability of claims you have made about an Acton school in the national media. In your article entitled ‘Bullies, liars and shameless hypocrites are trying to kill our school’ you make the claim that NUT opposition stopped a school, which I believe to be Berrymead Junior School, from becoming an academy by threatening the head. You also imply that becomming an academy would have been a good thing for this school. I am suggesting that this school may not have become an academy because the majority of the staff, parents and governors did not want it. I am further suggesting that they may not have wanted this because it would have left the staff and the school facing an uncertain future and would have offered no tangible benefits to the teaching and learning. I did not write the article and so have not investigated. You did right the article and I assume you got paid for writing the article. Therefore, is it not reasonable to ask you to explain what primary research you did before making this claim to the Daily Mail’s two million readers and what tangible benefits would becoming an academy have given to the school? |
