| There is a cruel irony that the WLFS might go to Bryony Centre site which was earmarked as the new location for the Cambridge School under BSF. This was not some needless vanity project the present school is not fit for purpose, it has inadequate wheelchair access, no proper changing facilities( many of the children are incontinent)and there is not enough room for specialist sensory equipment to help with some of their disabilities. These are just a few of the problems. These children are some our most vulnerable members of society and more than anyone else they deserve the best start in life. But unfortunately Toby you have put a price on the cost of improving these children's lot (tens of millions) what kind of society have we become if we cast aside our most vulnerable in favour of an unproven educational project. I have met Dennis on many occasion and I can tell you that he is a remarkable man, he is committed to the education of our most vulnerable and he is a committed trade unionist. He has done a great deal for many people and unlike you Toby he does not do this in the full glare of publicity. He is not exploiting people's concerns for these children he is just letting the likes you know that they desperately need better facilities to improve their lot. When are these kids going to get a better education Toby answer me that? It is all a question of priorities do we help the vulnerable or teach latin? I know what I would do. Toby this not a cue to tell me about the countries finances it will not wear with me. |
