Thank you for your reply, which I read with interest. Unfortunately I do not have my letter from my previous challenge as it was over 5 years ago. My defence would have been along the line of: There was no indication (signage, road markings etc) to indicate that it was an offence to park where I did. I was parked on Shakespeare Road (W3), at the far end, perpendicular to the wall separating the Overground rail track from the road. I was effectively parked in the middle of the road, although not blocking anyone in or in front of driveways etc. In their letter, EC refer to rule 243 of the highway code. This regards the potential to obstruct emergency vehicles. They also state I was parked more than 50cm from the kerb. |
