| Tonight at Ealing Planning, Councillor Crawford single handedly betrayed the parents of Derwentwater school. Firstly she advised several of us in her surgery how best we should fight the temporary classroom application, only then in an extraordinary u turn tonight, she not only spoke in favour of the portacabin, but after a split 6-6 vote first time round, she intervened with a colleague and persuaded him to abstain so the application went through. As someone who knows all to well the pressures on the school she could have spoken about the prior temporary huts, but instead the nimby self interest of East Acton won through. Shame on her. If ever you wanted an exemplar of the sheer two facedness of politicians this was it. I urge you all to have long memories and kick her out at the first opportunity. |
