No consideration has been given to people who do not drive, not everyone can get to Greenford, and I expect people just won't bother. We have enough problems with rubbish in our streets at the moment. Heaven help us when the Stirling Road site closes it's doors. Surely residents should be helped and encouraged to dispose of their rubbish properly, not put obstacles in their way? The Stirling Road site was always very busy but then it was decided that drivers had to make an appointment and that residents on foot would be refused entry. I can imagine what people would do with their rubbish rather than take it home again! I thought the idea was to encourage people to make fewer car journeys? Surely it made more sense to allow residents to continue using a local site? Mind you I could see this coming because we have tower blocks popping up everywhere so it was only a matter of time. I just hope Acton doesn't become one huge rubbish dump! |
