| Anthony, This thread started with a post that contained the phrase "You could not get a more stupid council Leader and cabinet if you tried" and many of the subsequent posts contain similar language. You yourself just used the word "quisling" a synonym for traitor and reference to Norway's WW2 fascists. In that context, it's entirely reasonable to point out that the Council has won recognition for its competence in other areas of its work and that the closing of the tip might therefore be a reluctant step by the Council forced on it by the last 10 years of cuts to local authority funding that started with the ConLib government in 2010, not some malicious scheme to inconvenience the public. I repeat, I don't want the Acton tip to close. But we do need to press the government on this, not just the Council. |
