Hi Angela, You are correct, I should have formulated that better, probably got my wires mixed using this forum is confusing, in particular when there are so many unfounded claims and evidences being shared. You obviously did not write that you lived on a negatively impacted road. I do apologies. I do get the impact on driving around Acton, I live here too (still too poor to buy electric, but saving), at the moment it is crazy. Traffic is so bad that it makes me walk much more. Unfortunately we cannot simply draw conclusions on our own journeys and claim it is LTN, I drive through areas without them and have noticed a massive increase, so can I then argue that there is no impact from LTN – no I cannot. It is not factual. We have to look at it holistically. And the study I have reviewed, now in a bit of detail, is clear – this works (in terms of reducing traffic to the area, spreading the peaks, reducing accidents and making it a more pleasant area). |
