This is the work of Central Government, all boroughs have been given money to stop rat running and told to consult when the schemes are up and running. Removing rat runs can be a good thing and the work done in Walthamstow is now popular with the majority of residents. We will always have Neanderthal man. So if you live in a proposed LTN please make suggestions on the consultation document as to how it can be improved. We all know Ealing's transport officers and cabinet member are not the best, they certainly have a complete lack of understanding as to how people go about their lives and not having time to carry out pre-scheme research is not ideal, but an email and telephone conversation with local resident and community group would have not have taken much time and would have helped. But we are currently stuck with them. We should be helping them to make theses schemes a positive improvement. |
