| Hi Dee Re-conservation areas I'm not really sure what the arguments for and against are. (Although in this case I know it would have stopped this development). I'm like a lot of people in that I have got a loft that I want to convert one day so I'm a bit worried about being told I can't because I'm in a conservation area. On the other hand - I do really value the environment I live in and get annoyed at the gradual erosion there has been of Acton's few historic buildings over the last few years. I should add that I'm not in the "conserve-at-all-costs" society" either. I just think if you are going to knock something down - that you have to be sure that (architecturally) you are replacing it with something better. And that hasn't happened a lot. |
