Other boroughs are able to 1) Collect Rubbih/Recycling 2) Clean the streets Look at Hammersmith/Fulham, Wandsworth & Westminster as examples. The council are making excuses for their incompetence in handling the tender process. If they are go with the cheapest option then the need to understand the contracts and what the potential downside risk is becomes more important. Now they are trying to exit from the deal in 2020 because it's not working. Our taxes are paying for this and we have to put up with terrible service in the interim. Additionally it won't be fixed straight away, the whole process could take around 4-5 years. I also don't agree with shifting the blame to of the UK Government. As stated above other councils are capable of doing this. Ohh and our council tax just went up 6% (from memory) what a joke! |
