| Mik Sabiers our counciler came around before the elections and I explained to him i couldn't vote for Labour because they so useless at the most basic tasks 1) Collecting Rubbish/Recyling 2) Cleaning Streets He made excuses that the incumbent cleaning company put in a low bid for the business thinking they'd get economies of scale winning other councils business with similarly low bids. This didn't happen and we stuck with the terrible serivce and the people of acton have once again voted in an incomptent Labour council once again. My take away from this - 1) they don't know how to run proper procurement processes because they'd ignore assumptions and risk regarding scale across other boroughs 2) they can't write proper contracts that enforce penalties on the service provider if they don't meet necessary targets because of point 1. Labour are a joke at all levels. |
